North Macedonia and Greece have signed 2021 military cooperation programme, MIA’s Athens correspondent reported on Monday.
It includes support to issues related to integration of North Macedonia’s Army into structures of NATO, training and education in the centres of the Greek Army as well as cooperation on issues of common military interest.
“Signing the specific programme further boosts the military cooperation and interoperability between the armed forces of the two countries to implement such joint exercises and operational activities. At the same time, the key role of Greece in the rapid and efficient integration of the neighbouring country in the mechanisms of the Alliance is emphasized, which promotes security and stability in the wider Balkan region,” said the Hellenic Army General Staff.
The military cooperation programme incorporating assistance to issues related to integration of North Macedonia’s Army into structures of NATO, also includes education and training in Greek military institutions and schools of the three sectors of the armed forces, providing specialized training in several centers such as Multinational Peace Support Operations Training Centre and the Air and Missile Defence Centre, activities to further enhance cooperation in special operations by conducting joint training in both countries, as well as cooperation on cyberspace, data, military medical logistics.
