Vaccination across North Macedonia is taking place uninterrupted, with interest rising daily. So far, 438,879 citizens have applied for vaccination via the vakcinacija.mk website, the Ministry of Health said on Friday.
A total of 243,832 citizens got vaccinated in North Macedonia as of Thursday, when 6,521 COVID-19 vaccines were administered, of which 2,249 to people receiving a first dose.
According to the Ministry, a total of 369,661 vaccine doses have been administered nationwide, while 125,829 citizens have been fully vaccinated. Latest data show that 47% of the population over 70, and 41% of the population over 65 has received at least one vaccine dose so far.
The mass vaccination program against COVID-19 is based on the National Immunization Plan, prioritizing seniors and frontline workers. In addition to the country’s largest mass vaccination site at the Skopje Boris Trajkovski Sports Arena, vaccination sites are open in Kavadarci, Kumanovo, Tetovo, Shtip, Bitola, Strumica, Ohrid, Veles and Prilep.
