A total of 234,508 citizens got vaccinated in North Macedonia as of Saturday, when 10,792 COVID-19 vaccines were administered, of which 597 to people receiving a first dose, the Ministry of Health said on Monday.
According to the Ministry, a total of 315,781 vaccine doses have been administered nationwide, while 81,273 citizens have been fully vaccinated. Latest data show that 47% of the population over 70, and 41% of the population over 65 has received at least one vaccine dose so far.
“Vaccination across North Macedonia is taking place uninterrupted, with interest rising daily. So far, 431,770 citizens have applied for vaccination via the vakcinacija.mk website,” the press release reads.
The mass vaccination program against COVID-19 is based on the National Immunization Plan, prioritizing seniors and frontline workers. In addition to the country’s largest mass vaccination site at the Skopje Boris Trajkovski Sports Arena, vaccination sites are open in Kavadarci, Kumanovo, Tetovo, Shtip, Bitola, Strumica, Ohrid, Veles and Prilep.
