As of today, a total of 145,043 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the country, with 121,181 citizens receiving one dose and 23,862 citizens receiving two, the Ministry of Health said in a press release on Tuesday.
On Monday, 14,033 people were vaccinated against COVID-19 nationwide. Of them, 13,076 received their first vaccine dose.
The mass vaccination program against COVID-19 is based on the National Immunization Plan, prioritizing seniors and frontline workers. The latest figures show that 35 percent of the population over 70 has received at least one vaccine dose so far.
In addition to the country’s largest mass vaccination site at the Skopje Boris Trajkovski Sports Arena, vaccination sites are open in Kavadarci, Kumanovo, Tetovo, Shtip, Bitola and Ohrid.
The Ministry of Health urges citizens to apply for their coronavirus shot appointment at vakcinacija.mk. So far, over 303,574 citizens have applied for vaccination via the website, the press release adds.
