NEWS OF THE DAY: GDP to decline by 3,4%
The economic activity in the country this year will decline by 3.4% as a result of the COVID-19 crisis, while the inflation rate will have a downward revision and will amount to 0.2%, show the projections on the economy of the Ministry of Finance presented today according to which, assesses Minister Nina Angelovska, that so far things are developing better than what was expected with the more favourable scenario of this ministry in regards to dealing with the crisis.

Angelovska: As many as possible jobs need to be saved, and all of us need to bear the burden of the crisis
Asked whether she thinks there should be a reduction in the salaries of the public administration, Minister of Finance Nina Angelovska stated that everyone should bear the burden in terms of the crisis situation in which we are, but that the Government is a collective body and will inform on the decision that will be made.

STATE OF EMERGENCY
The Ministry of Health informs that today the Institute for Public Health has registered 47 recovered COVID-19 patients, by cities as follows: Skopje-9, Kumanovo-9, Prilep-8, Tetovo-13, Ohrid-1, Gostivar-5, Kocani-1 and Kriva Palanka-1.

At the Clinic for Infectious Diseases, one patient from Skopje at the age of 65 died, who was hospitalized at the Clinic since April 27.

In the past 24 hours, 113 tests have been performed and 7 new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed, by cities as follows: Skopje-1, Prilep-1, Tetovo-4 and Kratovo-1.

About 7.000 companies have applied, are using or will use some of the measures of the two sets of economic measures that the Government has presented so far.

Over the past 24 hours, in terms of the ban on movement, 55 people have disregard the measure on the ban of movement throughout the country, 45 of them have been detained and appropriate measures will follow for the others.

The Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office Skopje today submitted proposals for issuing criminal order against a total of 30 people for the crime – Failure to comply to the health regulations during an epidemic, informs the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office.

Following the session of the Constitutional Court on Wednesday, we will have a working meeting where the judges will take a stance on whether to accept the initiative and ex officio initiate a procedure for the dissolution of Parliament and announcing elections, stated the President of the Constitutional Court, Sali Murati. CIVIL ACTIVITIES
CIVIL: Achievements in the area of freedom of expression are evident, but accompanied by numerous weaknesses and challenges
CIVIL, a human rights and freedoms organization, established in 1991 and having set up the organizational unit CIVIL Media in 2009, celebrated yesterday’s World Press Freedom Day with around 40 articles, including also 25 statements by renowned journalists and experts in the area of the media. The fight for freedom of expression and information does not last just one day, hence this activity of the Organization will continue with the same pace in the following period as well.
