New dismissals in SDSM
Prime Minister Zoran Zaev following last night’s session of SDSM’s Central Board, said that at least three more ministers will be replaced and several directors of public enterprises.
“More ministers will be replaced. I am not telling the number. Having in consideration that so far six ministers have been replaced, for culture, justice and education and three without portfolio, I am close to the total number of one third, which means, we will go with election of Government. This means that there will be more than three ministers. Once we make the decisions for the new ones, we will also say which ministers we are dismissing”, said Prime Minister Zaev.
Ljupco Nikolovski will also no longer be a Minister, who was been appointed as the new General Secretary of SDSM, in place of Aleksandar Kiracocski who was dismissed, whereas Zaev also thanked Organizational Secretary Mile Zecevic and Dane Talevski for international affairs. The leader of SDSM said that the citizens sent them a crystal clear message at the presidential elections.
Also dismissed are: Aleksandar Kiracovski, all six Vice-Presidents of SDSM – Oliver Spasovski, Frosina Remenski, Petre Silegov, Damjan Mancevski, Muhamed Zekiri and Blagoj Bocvarski, as
well as the coordinator of the SDSM Forum of Women, Cvetanka Laskova, Mile Zecevik and the entire Executive Board.
Reactions following Zaev’s “Operation Broom”
After last night’s session of SDSM’s Central Board, today there are reactions of some of those who were dismissed:
Kiracovski: As individuals, we are not at all important
“Our functions and careers are smaller than our integrity and the readiness to put ourselves in the function of higher, common goals”, is said in Kiracovski’s reaction. Furthermore, he thanked Prime Minister Zoran Zaev for the expressed trust, and also his family for which he said has gone through many very difficult and unjust moments in this recent period because of his function.
Nikolovski: We will work with strong control
Latest Minister of Agriculture Ljupco Nikolovski will be carrying out the function of General Secretary of the party, replacing Kiracovski.
“We will primarily be working on strong control in terms of how our program is realized, SDSM’s program and our promises that were part of our campaigns”, said Nikolovski and announced that he will be working day and night on building a system of accountability and honesty and responsibility and commitment, all in the function of realizing the promises.
Silegov: In politics nothing is eternal
The Mayor of the City of Skopje, Petre Silegov, said that in politics nothing is eternal, and that they will leave as they have come. He also said that if the people are following them in what they are doing, the policies he has created and the strategies in the past year and a half, since he has been a mayor, that they will see and will know everything the City of Skopje has been working in this past year.
Spasovski: Prime Minister Zaev is right
Oliver Spasovski, Minister of Interior, today stated that Prime Minister Zoran Zaev is right for releasing all of the Vice-Presidents of the ruling SDSM from their duties, along with the general secretary and other officials. According to Spasovski, who is also among the dismissed, nobody opposed the decision, but didn’t answer whether he will run again for the same function.
Remenski: My fight did not begin with party or political functions, nor will it end without them
“The decisions have been made without a gram of vanity, but determinedly, as is appropriate for people with integrity and a vision for expectations! A time comes for delivery of the motto for which we were fighting for, and in which we all believed in, that ‘There has to be responsibility’ and ‘Never to be repeated again’. I thank the President and Vice-president of SDSM, Zoran Zaev and Radmila Sekerinska for the trust. The fight continues!”, wrote Frosina Remenski.
False representatives have embezzled 12.000 euros for a campaign at the presidential elections
The Sector for Internal Affairs Skopje – Unit for Economic and Computer Crime has submitted criminal charges to the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office against B.N (37) and T.P (58), both from Skopje, on grounds of suspicion of having committed “fraud”. B.N in an agreement with T.P in April and May 2019, announced today the MOI, had demanded several times and received cash in a total amount of 750.000 denars from a manager in a private firm. They had deceived him, namely, falsely informed him that the money they had requested would be used as a donation for the financing of an election campaign of one of the political parties at the presidential elections 2019.

Smilev: There is no economic and social progress without environmental progress
“As long as the world exists, nationalism will, unfortunately, be an integral part of humanity”, says Igor Smilev, well-known activist from Veles.
Smilev considers that although nationalism in Veles may not be as visible as in other cities in the country, it does still exist. He adds that precisely such latent nationalism is much more dangerous.
In terms of the environment and the situation in Veles, Smilev is decisive that the Ministry of Environment is the last ministry that is taken seriously and that environmental ministers have just been a political reward to all the political cliques until now, instead of realistically and substantially handling the environment.
“There is not a centimetre of economic and social progress, if there is no environmental progress. Veles is living a sad social moment, but on the account of that we have the environmental moment, which is several classes ahead of the others. This is a basis for us to hope that one beautiful sunny day, Veles will be an economically prosperous city, because environment, economy and social development are a sacred trinity”, says Smilev.
