Justice Minister Bojan Marichikj met Friday in Tirana with Albanian counterpart Etilda Gjonaj, discussing the enhancement of bilateral cooperation in the justice field.
The meeting, also attended by Deputy Justice Minister Agim Nuhiu, tackled the countries’ European integration, considering that both North Macedonia and Albania are at the same stage on this path, the Ministry of Justice said in a press release.
“Despite the fact that both countries are disappointed from the non-decision on the start of the EU accession negotiations, there is hope that things will change during the Slovenian Presidency and talks will finally begin. Meanwhile, regional and bilateral cooperation needs to develop, including in the justice sector,” said Minister Marichikj.
During the Tirana visit, Marichikj met with Albanian MP of Macedonian descent Vasil Sterjovski and is set to visit the Macedonian Culture Center in the city, reads the press release.
