Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski extended a message of congratulations on Aug. 2 – Republic Day, which is celebrated this year under the slogan “120 years of Ilinden, the Hearth of the Motherland”, and the 79th anniversary of the Anti-Fascist Assembly for the National Liberation of Macedonia (ASNOM),, transmits news agency MIA.
“May we have a happy and blessed Ilinden – Day of the Republic! Today we celebrate the two Ilinden days, bedrocks of Macedonian statehood, language and culture. We honor our glorious past, facing a brighter future! Let’s celebrate today’s historic day together, united with the same faith in our prosperous future! The Ilinden idea is our continuity through the centuries, Ilinden lives in all of us!,” Kovachevski posted on Facebook.
Eternal gratitude to our Ilinden and ASNOM fighters, Kovachevski adds, whose struggle for a free, independent, democratic, progressive Macedonian state and multicultural society is today our legacy and a roadmap along the European path.
