Zaev: Gruevski had hidden in a car trunk while fleeing the country
In an interview for German newspaper FAZ, Prime Minister Zoran Zaev reveals details on the escape of former prime minister Gruevski, for which there were many speculations in the public until now. The Prosecution is not confirming this information, informs Deutsche Welle.
“We know how Gruevski fled the country”, claims Macedonian Prime Minister Zoran Zaev in an interview published in the German Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. Zaev claims for FAZ that he knows the trajectory of Gruevski movement during the crucial hours of his escape from the country.
“He had gone down to the basement with an elevator, and then hid in the trunk of the automobile with which he fled the country. A Hungarian diplomatic vehicle had been waiting for him in Albania”, claims the Prime Minister.
“El Cheka” with a new bomb for “Monster”
The man from Kicevo “El Cheka”, after several bombs in which senior officials of DUI can be heard, released a wiretapped conversation that is led in the Macedonian language in which there is talk about the murder of five people at the Smilkovsko Lake, a case known as “Monster”.
A male and female voice can be heard in this conversation. During the conversation, the female voice constantly repeats that there is no evidence for the suspects who were arrested in this case, and doubts that they might not even have been Albanians. “There is no trace! No trace! This is at a high level, they are professionals…”, says the female voice. “They could have been Bulgarians, maybe Greeks”, is heard among else in that conversation.
Condemnations from all sides for discrimination of a restaurant in Prilep against football player Alioski
The Football Federation of Macedonia strongly condemned the hate speech and discrimination, with the latest victim to this being Macedonian professional football player Ezgjan Alioski.
Macedonian football representative Ezgjan Alioski, yesterday was driven out of a restaurant in his home town Prilep because of speaking in Albanian. The employees in the restaurant after having heard Alioski speaking in Albanian with his parents and relatives, told them to leave with the explanation that all the tables were reserved and that the restaurant was full.
President Stevo Pendarovski also reacted on his Facebook profile about the unpleasant incident in Prilep that Macedonian professional football player Ezgjan Alioski had experienced.
Global week for education and strengthening public awareness on gun violence
Global week of action against gun violence is a time when citizens need to promote the fight against gun violence, and for the authorities to recall on the existing standards and agreements for controlling the proliferation of arms and trafficking of weapons. This week should be used for education and strengthening public awareness with the purpose of eliminating prohibited weapons and gun violence on the streets and in homes.
“This action is an opportunity to express the concern of the member organizations of the network in regards to proliferation and misuse of small arms and light weapons. At the same time, IANSA calls for greater action by governments”, is said in the press release of the network. CIVIL – Center for freedom is a member organization of IANSA since 2002, and of the Control Arms Coalition from the very beginning of the Coalition’s establishment in 2003. For 18 years CIVIL has been marking this week through activities for strengthening public awareness and education.
End of profligacy!
At the “End Profligacy” event that was organized by CIVIL – Center for Freedom on June 5, interested citizens had the opportunity to learn in greater detail about the demands of the organization regarding the cancelling or reducing of the privileges of public officials.
“Our demands do not only refer to the former president, but to all previous and current officials. Our initiative refers to all who are appointed and elected, and all officials in the administration, namely, to all those who are in the situation of spending public money or using public goods or using or misusing official position at the local and state level. Our initiative also does not only refer to appanages or pensions, but to several areas of spending public money”, stated Xhabir Deralla from CIVIL.
