Pilot census ends
The pilot census of the population and households was successfully carried out in the past 15 days in 13 municipalities of the country. The Draft Law on the Census remains closed in a parliamentary drawer. It is not known when the Committee debate for the draft law will be scheduled, because the first session of the Committee was postponed overnight after the announcements for a boycott by the opposition party VMRO-DPMNE.
The pilot census was carried out in 13 municipalities in the country from mid-month until yesterday. The Director of the State Statistical Office, Apostol Simovski, says that the application solution functions well and that he hopes there won’t be any problems in the conducting of the main census.
The main census should be held in April 2020 – but it is ever more uncertain with the draft law stuck in parliamentary drawers.
