Health Minister Venko Filipche held Thursday a meeting with Mladen Chadikovski, President of the Association of Journalists of Macedonia (ZNM), ZNM Executive Director Dragan Sekulovski, and Tamara Grncharoska and Pavle Belovski, members of the Executive Board of the Independent Trade Union of Journalists and Media Workers (SSNM).
They discussed the importance of journalists being included in priority groups to receive COVID-19 vaccines due to the nature of their work and the risk they are facing of contracting the virus, the Health Ministry said.
According to the National COVID-19 Vaccination Plan, Filipche said, journalists and media workers are already included in the second stage of the inoculation process and in the category of citizens from institutions of vital importance for the functioning of the country.
“Journalists and media workers will receive the vaccine after the groups of people included in the first stage, which is under way,” said the press release.
Vaccination of journalists and media workers from TV and radio stations, the press and online media from all over the country will be voluntary.
