The State Labor Inspectorate announced that with the entry into force of the legal amendments to the Law on Labor Relations for a non-working day on Sunday, from January 2, it will establish weekly shifts in regions, where workers can report if their rights are violated. work on Sunday.

All employers are informed that from 01.01.2022 the amendments to the Law on Labor Relations (Official Gazette of RSM no. 288/2021) enter into force, which in Article 134 paragraph 2 regulates that, “a day of weekly rest is Sunday “, remind the Inspectorate.

Employees of wholesale and retail trade employers use the day of weekly rest in accordance with the Law on Amendments to the Law on Trade (Official Gazette No. 295/2021), which can be found at the following link: https://dit.gov.mk/?page_id=624

Before starting work on Sunday, employers are obliged to inform the State Labor Inspectorate on a prescribed form – Report on work on Sunday, which can be found on the website of the State Labor Inspectorate at the following link: https://dit.gov.mk/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/%D0%9E%D0%B1%D1%80%D0%B0%D0%B7%D0%B5%D1%86-izvestuvanje-za-rabota-vo-nedela.pdf

Notice of work on Sunday, employers can submit electronically to the following email address: [email protected]  or in the archives of the regional offices of DIT as well as in the central archive at the headquarters of DIT on Blvd. Partisan Squads No. 48A, Skopje.

With the entry into force of the legal amendments, the State Labor Inspectorate establishes duty on Sunday by regions. “We encourage all workers whose work-related rights will be violated on Sundays, contrary to the law, to report to the State Labor Inspectorate,” the Inspectorate said in a statement.

Registration can be done in several ways: on the DIT website (https://dit.gov.mk/ ) anonymously or as an application from a known applicant, by submitting an application in the archives of the regional offices and in the headquarters of the SLI from Monday to Friday from 8.30 to 16.30, through the call center calling the number 15131 from Monday to Friday from 8.30 am to 16.30 pm, and on Sundays starting from January 2, 2022 from 8.30 am to 16.30 pm to the on-duty inspectors by regions (information with data on duty inspectors on Sundays in January 2022 can be obtained at the following link: https://dit.gov.mk/?p=9833

– With this notification, the State Labor Inspectorate wants to emphasize once again that during the inspections the priority will be the consistent application of these legal norms, in order to protect the rights of workers, reads the statement from the State Labor Inspectorate.
