The unreserved support of the EU to North Macedonia in the processes of development and integration, the government’s commitment to further advance in the reform processes, the policies of dialogue and the country’s strategic goals were the topics discussed during the meeting between the First Deputy PM and Minister of Political System and Community Relations Artan Grubi and the EU Ambassador David Geer.
Deputy PM Grubi expressed to Ambassador Gere the country’s commitment on the path to EU integration and the importance of the European Union’s mediation in overcoming Skopje-Sofia dispute, and thanked him for the commitment thus far in finding a solution that will be in the interest of both parties, his Office said in a press release.
Grubi stressed that there is no room for Euroscepticism among political elites or citizens because all our achievements are joint and we are going to continue the same way.
Ambassador Geer was briefed on the green agenda, as the country’s strategic orientation for a better life following the normative conclusion of all political issues set out in the Ohrid Framework Agreement and the Prespa Agreement, which laid the basis for equality, democracy and equal economic development.
Interlocutors also agreed that utmost efforts should be made to achieve the unique and unwavering goal of North Macedonia to be integrated into the European Union.
Grubi and Geer also exchanged views on celebration on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Ohrid Framework Agreement and the population census. Ambassador Geer, on behalf of the European Union, confirmed his participation in the event marking the 20th anniversary of the Ohrid Framework Agreement.
