The statistical data for the project “Europe is our home” are astounding. Through four complex components (project lines), 19 different project segments will be implemented with 10 different categories of project results.
“Europe is our home” is a project of CIVIL that starts today, and will last until January 31, 2021. Within the framework of this project, composed of multiple complementary components, CIVIL will conduct monitoring, advocating and strengthening of public awareness in several areas.
The project will include election monitoring and participation in the electoral reforms, as well as monitoring of the most important events and processes in the country. As the title itself says, one of the main commitments of the project is to contribute to the EU integration process of the Republic of North Macedonia. Furthermore, CIVIL will contribute to the political dialogue, will initiate or support legislative civic initiatives. This project will promote European values, human rights and freedoms.
CIVIL in different ways, anticipated with the project methodology, will give strong and visible contribution to the fight against corruption, through strengthening public awareness and cooperation with relevant institutions in the country.
An important component of this project is also the fight against hybrid attacks on democracy. CIVIL has been for years one of the leading organizations giving contribution to the fight against fake news, disinformation, hate speech and other forms of hybrid attacks against democracy. That fight will significantly intensify with this project.
This is a complex and comprehensive project that will give specific and visible contribution to the efforts for sustainable reforms and social transformation. Democracy, the rule of law and respect for human rights are the organization’s main commitments, and this project is of strategic importance for those commitments to be translated into specific results.
The statistical data for the project “Europe is our home” are astounding. Through four complex components (project lines), 19 different project segments will be implemented with 10 different categories of project results. These include different forms of direct communication with citizens, as well as holding 140 meetings with citizens throughout the country, 3 big national conferences and 6 panel discussions on the most important topic in the country, 29 press conferences, 40 briefings, 18 meetings with representatives of the government, political parties and NGOs and 15 meetings with people who participate in creating the public opinion at the local and national level.
And that’s not all. The project “Europe is our home” anticipates a dynamic and exceptionally visible and influential media production of information, analyses, columns, reports, interviews and surveys in Macedonian, Albanian and English on CIVIL’s media platform.
The project is financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany. The Agreement for support was signed last week by the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of North Macedonia, Thomas Gerberich, and the President of CIVIL, Xhabir Deralla.
