NEWS OF THE DAY: The Security Council today in the Presidential “Villa Vodno” held its ninth session on the current situation with Covid-19 pandemic
The Security Council of the Republic of North Macedonia today in the presidential “Villa Vodno” held the ninth session on the current situation with the Covid-19 pandemic, which was attended by all permanent members of the Council, except professor Markovic, who is absent due to professional obligations and Minister of Interior Oliver Spasovski, and also by Minister of Health in addition to the permanent composition, who participated at the invitation of President Pendarovski.
After the end of the session, Pendarovski stated that there was only one item on the agenda, namely, the current situation with Covid-19 and the measures and activities of the competent bodies for combatting the pandemic.
STATEMENT OF THE DAY: Pendarovski and Zaev: There are no concessions in the negotiation for our identity and language
“What I can say, to repeat our position, is that there are no concessions, nor can there be any, from the national and state interests, which imply that there is no negotiation for our identity. That is our feeling and certainly there should be no negotiations for our identity”, replied President Pendarovski to a journalist question on an alleged Bulgarian compromise with which they would recognize the Macedonian language and people, and in return for Macedonia to recognize their historical roots.
“Greece recognized our right to self-determination, and that is our feeling, and certainly there are no and should be no negotiations for our identity and Macedonian language. Bulgaria is a friendly country and publically stresses the recognition of the Macedonian language and people, recognizes the reality. I believe that the working groups that are working and discussing this will find solutions. I really do expect from the Bulgarian people and the leadership of Bulgaria to make a concrete and precise step for the Macedonian language and people. Once again I will say, there is no new agreement, nor annex to the agreement, we are prepared to further clarify, specify and state certain matters”, said Zaev.
CIVIL ACTIVITIES

The crisis caused by Covid-19 is a brutal reminder of the importance of providing permanent progress in regards to enjoying social rights, especially through the development of the universal services for public health. The pandemic in a practical sense shows that human rights are indivisible.
