NEWS OF THE DAY: Dutch Embassy: Reports that the Netherlands have supported the Bulgarian veto is unfounded and false
The Dutch Embassy in Skopje says that reports in some media that Netherlands supported Bulgaria in blocking the Negotiating Framework for the start of the EU accession negotiations of North Macedonia are completely unfounded and false, reports SAKAMDAKAZAM.MK.
The Embassy recalls for SAKAMDAKAZAM.MK that “on October 30, 2020, the government of the Netherlands informed the Dutch Parliament on its decision that the first intergovernmental conference for North Macedonia can be held. This position remains, certainly, unchanged. The Netherlands also considered, and still consider that North Macedonia has achieved good progress and that the intergovernmental conference can be held immediately after the adoption of the Negotiating Framework”.

“Today we have achieved diplomatic success for our country. With consensus, namely all 56 countries participating in the OSCE, our candidature to chair the OSCE in 2023 was officially endorsed, which will follow Sweden in 2021 and Poland in 2022”, said Osmani.
The Minister informed about the course of the preparations that will follow in the following period, the defining of the draft program of our priorities, detailing of the financial construction, as well as about the forming of a broader team that will be responsible for implementation of the activities until and during our chairmanship.
“The OSCE chairmanship will contribute to a new, better international positioning of the Republic of North Macedonia, as a constructive actor and contributor in the promotion of OSCE’s efforts, and indirectly will create also the opportunity for the institutional capacity that is expected from a NATO member state and future EU member state to be manifested”, said Osmani.
