STATEMENT OF THE DAY: Pendarovski: North Macedonia deserves and is prepared to start EU accession negotiations
“Our national efforts for sustainable development are harmonized with our key foreign policy goal – EU membership. The Republic of North Macedonia deserves and has been prepared to start the EU accession negotiations, since the German Presidency.
The EU integration of our country, but also of other countries of the Western Balkans, is in the interest of regional security and prosperity. A possible blockade or postponement of the start of the negotiations would be a big mistake or a big failure, above all, of the European Union and of the German Presidency, which is so involved in supporting the European perspective of the countries of the Western Balkans”, stated today President Stevo Pendarovski at the opening of the online conference dedicated to higher education in the region of the Western Balkans on the topic “Common values, capabilities and sustainable development”.
CIVIL ACTIVITIES
Solidarity from the outside, stumbling blocks from the inside!
Exactly 235 days have passed since the World Health Organization declared the coronavirus pandemic. In this recent period, the solidarity and assistance of the EU, NATO, Norway, Germany, Turkey, Austria, China, the US and other countries have played a significant role for our country to be able to more easily cope with Covid-19.
While assistance is coming from all sides for us to more easily deal with the pandemic, unfortunately, Macedonian politicians from the opposition have not shown a sense for the situation in which our country is in, but are constantly attacking the government, primarily, through unsupported accusation, announcements, protests, gatherings… as if we are in an election campaign.
