A Skopje court postponed the trial of MP Antonio Miloshoski until Jan. 25 after one of the defendants didn’t arrive in court due to COVID-19.
Miloshoski, who is a member of Parliament of the opposition party VMRO-DPMNE, is one of 12 people who have been charged with embezzlement and abuse of office
They were charged involving a building sold in a village in the Municipality of Makedonski Brod, which was used by the Municipality of Plasnica, western North Macedonia.
The indictments says that the first two defendants ‘with the first defendant intending to obtain illegal property gain’ had misled the members of the Council of the Municipality of Makedonski Brod by falsely presenting and hiding facts regarding the legal status and the original worth of the property that was on sale.
The building on sale was a former community center used by the Municipality of Plasnicsa, but located in a village in the Municipality of Makedonski Brod.
The defendants have been charged with damaging the state budget by 1.795.800 denars.
