We have to administer the Census and everyone must take responsibility, said Prime Minister Zoran Zaev on Wednesday.
“There are countries that have postponed censuses but their data is from 10 years ago, while our data is 20 years old. We are doing people wrong by spending their money while using incorrect data. We can complete the Census. It is a statistical operation and we need to assume responsibility,” PM Zaev told reporters.
He added that the Census questionnaire is made much easier not only in North Macedonia but in other countries too.
“The data we have in databases is not noted down. We need data that is incomplete and then it is compared with the databases. However, there is data that is not incorporated in any database, such as religious or ethnic affiliation. There is also data that is collected directly, such as household members, children, education etc. Therefore, the number of the Census questionnaires has shrunk, because some data is already available, while another portion is compared,” said Zaev.
On the local elections, the PM said he expected the process to be successfully administered in October by using fingerprints, while adding that the Electoral Code must be adopted by consensus.
