Bytyqi: We will soon get a new government led by Zaev, six or seven ministers will be replaced

It is widely commented that Zaev’s resignation practically started the initiative to change the Government. In this morning, we talked about this and issues related to the budget, economy and crises that we are facing, as well as the whole of Europe, with the Vice President of SDSM and Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Fatmir Bytyqi.

– As a government, we have not been functioning normally for three months due to the local elections. The work of all institutions is reduced to a minimum, which surprised me because I am new to politics. “We had to adopt the budget during this period, we are facing a crisis with the pandemic, we have an economic crisis, and the energy crisis is a new moment, so now is not the time not to work full steam ahead,” Bytyqi told Utrinski briefing.

The public is interested in the status of the procedure for the resignation of SDSM President Zoran Zaev.

– The Central Board only asked for the decision on the resignation to be postponed. Resignation is a high democratic act and in normal countries it would be understood as a way to reconsider why things did not go well. In our country, this is understood pre-dramatically. I appreciate his decision to resign, but also his attitude to be postponed, informs Bytyqi.

In our country, the positions of party president are connected with the Prime Minister.

– In our society it is almost impossible to have a prime minister different from the president of the leading party unless there is a technical or expert government. Now follows the consolidation of the party and further a new prime minister-designate. I think that soon we will get a “Zaev 3” government, again a government led by Zaev with the change of six or seven ministers. “I think we need him to continue some processes,” Bytyqi said.

A new government or a government reshuffle involves negotiations between coalition partners that can complicate the allocation of new departments.

– The reshuffle of the government is good and I think that there will have to be some change of staff. I am completely free of whether I will be on the new list. “I think the results define who will stay and who will leave,” Bytyqi said.

DUI achieved a relatively good result in the elections, it did not experience a catastrophe like SDSM.

– We all need to reconsider why we lost. Everyone in the ruling majority lost. The message from the people was clear – this course at the local level is not enough. Any sensible politician will reconsider after this. The decision of DUI is their decision, but it is not a pity for the government if there are new staff because they bring new solutions, said the Deputy Prime Minister for Economy.
