NEWS OF THE DAY: Three years have passed since the bloody Thursday
Three years have passed since the violent attack on the Parliament, which happened on April 27. The attack on the Parliament took place while the current ruling majority was electing Talat Xhaferi as President of Parliament.
Of the greater number of accused, only Igor Durlovski was acquitted.
Former Director of the Bureau for Public Security, Mitko Cavkov, is convicted to 18 years in prison, while police chiefs Mitko Pesev, Dusko Lazarov, Goran Gjosevski received a sentence of 15 years in prison.
Fifteen of the accused were pardoned with the Law on Amnesty. A positive opinion to the request for amnesty was given for – Mukoski, Arnaudov, Vasilevski, Tarculovski and Dimovski, the organizers of the initiative “For united Macedonia” Bogdan Ilievski, Vlado Jovanovski and Boris Damovski, the employees in the Cabinet of then parliamentary speaker, Ivan Cvetanovski and Elena Docevska-Bozinovska, the Mladenovski brothers who first revealed details about the organization of the bloody Thursday and Zaharije Simovski, Ilija Slavevski and Mitre Pitropovski from the patriotic association.
The investigation for former Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski, who is in exile in Budapest, as well as for former intelligence officer Nikola Boskovski, as part of the organisers of the bloody Thursday, have been put off until they become available to the law enforcement authorities.
The trial for the organizers of the violence is still ongoing, and Trajko Veljanovski, Spiro Ristoski, Mile Janakieski and Vladimir Atansovski have also been accused in this case.

Nikolovski: It is still early for elections, for SDSM the health of the citizens comes first
“We consider that it is still early for elections and for a leaders’ meeting with President Pendarovski. At the moment we are fully committed, fully supporting the competent institutions in the fight against this pandemic, against the coronavirus. It first must be brought under control and then, when society and the state will be ready, to talk about the elections”, said Nikolovski at today’s press conference.

Over the past 24 hours, 289 tests have been made, and 13 new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed, as follows by cities: Skopje -4, Kumanovo-5, Prilep-2 and Tetovo-2. This brings the total number of diagnosed cases to 1.399 patients.

The Institute for Public Health has registered 53 recovered patients from coronavirus. By cities as follows: Skopje 25, Kumanovo 13, Prilep 5, Struga 1, Bitola 4, Ohrid 1 and Kocani 4.

Four patients have died. At the Clinic of Infectious Diseases two patients have died, a 58-year-old patient from Zelino (Tetovo) admitted to the Clinic on April 21 with a severe form of the disease and an 81-year-old patient from Kumanovo, treated at the Clinic from April 15. Both patients had suffered from high blood pressure. In the “September 8” Hospital, 1 person at the age of 47 from Kumanovo has died, admitted to the hospital for treatment on April 3 in a serious condition and on a ventilator for a long time. A patient from Bitola also died who was treated in the hospital in Bitola. The patient was at the age of 66 and in a serious condition, with heart failure and cirrhosis.

Minister Venko Filipce announced that the Ministry of Justice and the Commission for Infectious Diseases today will submit a proposal to the Government for sanctioning those not wearing protective equipment – face mask or something to cover the mouth and nose in the direction of protection against the spread of the coronavirus, to start immediately or no later than Tuesday. It has been concluded that a large part of the citizens either do not use protective equipment or use it incorrectly.

Treatment of COVID-19 patients with blood plasma in our country will start tomorrow. In the “September 8” hospital, COVID-19 patients will start to be treated with ozone therapy, stated today Minister of Health Venko Filipce.

Let’s not forget this and let’s never allow for this to ever happen again! wrote Zaev on Facebook.

The Association of Journalists of Macedonia (AJM) announced that lawsuits have been filed today from journalist for the attacks on them in the incidents that took place in Parliament on April 27 three years ago.
