The best solution is the two countries to double their efforts in order to reach an agreement acceptable for both North Macedonia and Bulgaria, EU Ambassador David Geer said Wednesday at a news conference in Tetovo.
Saying he understood the frustration in the country after the opening of negotiations with the EU hadn’t been approved, he acknowledged that both North Macedonia and Bulgaria have been already engaged in seeking mutually acceptable solution.
Geer urged the country to keep implementing reforms that are considered key in bringing North Macedonia closer to the EU and in fulfilling the ultimate goal, which is EU membership.
The EU diplomat reminded that the step that followed was the 27 EU member states to align the negotiating framework for North Macedonia.
