At today’s government session, the text of the Draft-Law on Payment Services and Payment Systems was determined, which should replace the existing Law on Payment Operations adopted in 2007.
According to the government press service, the new draft legal solution harmonizes the provisions of payment operations with Directive 2007/64 / EC on payment services and Directive 2009/110 / EC on electronic money of the European Union as indicated by the European Commission that domestic legislation is not in line with EU directives.
It is a draft legal solution with a reform character that will ensure a secure, stable and efficient payment system in the Republic of Northern Macedonia in accordance with European legislation.
At today’s session, the Strategy of the Government of the Republic of Northern Macedonia for cooperation with and development of the civil society was adopted, with Action Plan 2022-2024.
The Government Press Service points out that the Strategy is a result of the recognized need to improve the mechanisms for cooperation with civil society, and the measures taken with this strategy at the institutional level are aimed, inter alia, at maintaining continuity in the work of independent, representative, operational and effective Council for cooperation between the Government and civil society and for improving the practices for communication and cooperation with civil society organizations.
In order to improve the environment in which civil society operates and develops, the Council will continue to be a driver of reforming the system of state funding of civil society organizations, establishing a structural dialogue with civil society and creating a model for civil society participation in the future EU negotiating structure. on the ground.
As part of the priorities in the Strategy, improvement of the legal framework for civil society organizations has been identified; strengthening the institutional framework and practices of cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Northern Macedonia, state administration bodies and civil society organizations, establishing a tax framework that meets the specifics of the work of civil society organizations and enables their development, as well as improving the state funding system civil society organizations.
