Last September, the prominent think-tank organization, The Balkan Forum, based in Prishtina, Kosovo, has launched the Towards 2030 initiative. Numerous journalists, analysts, CSO leaders and experts wrote articles on key issues related to global developments and processes, as well as international days of observance of human rights, freedom of speech and media freedoms, peace, environment protection, etc.
As it was announced back then, “the Towards 2030 is an exciting new initiative that brings together voices from across the six Western Balkan countries to engage in global discussions on the most pressing issues of our time that will shape our future.” So far, the initiative is a full success, and it continues.
Through this initiative, writers from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia share their unique perspectives on global themes that resonate with international events and days of significance.
Towards 2030 features a series of regional blogs, offering fresh insights on topics such as security, sustainability, democracy, human rights, innovation, climate change, and social progress. The Balkan Forum provided a space for a free expression on highly relevant issues, aligning its content with key global moments, where writers help bridge the region’s unique perspectives with broader global conversations.
“This is not just an initiative—it’s a platform for dialogue, an opportunity for the Western Balkans to contribute to worldwide discussions that matter. Join us as we embark on this journey to 2030, amplifying the voices of our region and sparking conversations that span across borders. Stay tuned for thought-provoking content that will inspire, inform, and connect us all!” The Balkan Forum states.
The official hashtag of the initiative is #Towards2030.
