(SELECTION) Albanian media: Kurti demands greater commitment from the EU and the US for the agreement with Serbia, Interpol denies Brnabic, Berisha will “overthrow” Rama

The solution for the agreement between Serbia and Kosovo today again is in the focus of the Albanian media in the region, and below is the content from the selection of CIVIL Media’s editorial office for today’s topics in the media.

REPORTERI -Kurti: Meetings in Brussels should have been held every month, the EU and the US should put pressure on Belgrade

“On August 18 last year, we agreed to meet in Brussels every month. That did not happen in September, but rather we had the French-German proposal, which we call a proposal of the European Union supported by France and Germany, and there was no meeting until November 21. Still, I hope that this year there will be greater commitment from the international community, especially from the European Union and the United States, with the purpose to put more pressure on Belgrade, said Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, reports Kosovo media outlet Reporteri.

ZERI–Interpol denies Brnabic: The issue of Kosovo’sapplication was not reviewed at the meeting with her

“Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic on Wednesday stated that INTERPOL has shut the doors to Kosovo. She said that she had received assurances from the President of Interpol, Ahmed Naser Al-Raisi, that Kosovo’s potential application for membership in the International Criminal Police Organization will not be on the agenda during his mandate.

However, in INTERPOL’s response they say that no such potential application for membership had been reviewed at that meeting”, reports Kosovo media Zeri.

PANORAMA: Will there be protests before the elections on May 14?

Rama’s fall is an alternative at any time. This is a revolution. Those who don’t understand are making a mistake. This one has all the tools on the ground. The campaign, the struggle, there may be protests for a week, for two weeks. The mission is to overthrow a monist system, said Sali Berisha in the interview for Syri. Net,reports the Albanian media Panorama.

FAXWEB – SP rejects the initiative for an investigative commission against Rama for 137 charter flights

The Socialists, at the Conference of Speakers on Thursday, rejected the request by the opposition MPs for a parliamentary investigation into the expensesofPrime Minister Edi Rama’s charter plane trips, and also warned of legal changes regarding the formation of investigative commissions, reports Albanian media outlet Fax Web.

EPOKA E RE–History curses those who trample on the blood of the nation’s heroes!

“From 1878 to 1881, genocide with ethnic cleansing of the Albanians was carried out by the Sanjak of Nis and Topanica. What remains today of those countries, of those people, where are they and where have they remained? The few who escaped death are somewhere around the world, in Turkey, in the US, in Europe, but most of them don’t speak Albanian, don’t know Albanian, nor remember what had happened to them”, an excerpt from the column “History curses those who trample on the blood of the nation’s heroes!”, by university professor Nusret Plana, published in the Kosovo daily Epoka е Re.
