(SELECTION) Albanian media: RAMA again gathers leaders of Albanian parties in Tirana, Kasami doesn’t want to sit at the same table with Ahmeti
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

One of the main topics in Albanian media in the region yesterday and this morning was the call for a meetingby Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama to the leaders of the Albanian parties in North Macedonia. Who is invited and who will (not) attend, and why, are additional topics the media are writing about, and part of the selection of CIVIL Media’s editorial office for today.

EPOKA E RE: After six years, Edi Rama again gathers Albanian leaders in Tirana

“Six years after the first meeting, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama on Tuesday will once again gather the Albanian leaders from Macedonia in Tirana.

The reasons for this meeting are not announced in Rama’s invitation, but news is that he will focus on the support for the constitutional changes and EU integration reforms”, reports Epoka e Re.

FLAKA: Alternativa and AA will go to Rama for a meeting, DUI and DPA so far without a response

“Some of the Albanian parties in the country have confirmed that they will go to the meeting in Tirana, which, as the media have reported, is organized by Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Alternativa, the Alliance for Albanians and Besa told the Media Agency that they have received an invitation for a meeting and that they will go, but do not announce details. There is no response from DUI. The leader of DUI, Ali Ahmeti, the leader of the Alliance for Albanians, Arben Taravari, of the Besa Movement, Bilal Kasami, of Alternativa, Afrim Gashi and of DPA, Menduh Thaci, have all been invited”, reports the Macedonian media outlet Flaka.

Zhurnal: Kasami accepts Rama’s invitation, but not at the same table with Ahmeti

Besa spokesperson Faruk Avdiu in a statement for the media said that the leader of Besa, Bilal Kasami, will participate in the meeting upon the invitation of Edi Rama, but will not sit at the table with Ali Ahmeti. According to Avdi, DUI is abusing the political table whenever there is trouble”, reports the Zhurnal portal.

EVROPA E LIRE: One-month detention for the suspect for wounding two young Serbs in Strpce

The Basic Court in Urosevac determined a one-month detention for a 33 year-old suspect by the initials A.K, for wounding two people in Strpce, a municipality inhabited by a majority of Serbs”, reports Slobodna Evropa in Albanian.

KOHA: The new year starts the old way

“How it will be and whether it will be, remains to be seen. However, it is absolutely incorrect, unprincipled and hypocritical to wash hands when you hear how the opposition accuses this Government for the “Association”. It’s easy to blame others, it’s hard to accept mistakes. And if they had intellectual and political power and courage, the opposition would have had to unite in a common front with the Government, to resolve this and the issue of long-term negotiations with Serbia.”, an excerpt of the column “The new year starts the old way” by Flaka Suroi, published in the Kosovo daily KOHA.
