Albanian press: Border crossing points at Jarinje and Brnjak are still closed, escalation between Kosovo and Serbia has been postponed
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Albanian language media in the region today are dominated by the situation with the barricades in the north of Kosovo and the predictions for the coming year as to the possible escalation of the situation. So far, only one of the three barricades has been removed, the one in Merdare, whereas the two border crossing points Jarinje and Brnjak are closed. According to the Director of the Belgrade Centre for International and Security Affairs, Igor Novakovic, he doesn’t expect an agreement to be reached between Serbia and Kosovo neither next year.

INA: The two border crossing points Jarinje and Brnjak are still closed

The Kosovo National Center for Border Management announced that on Friday morning the two border crossings Jarinje and Brnjak remain to be closed, reports Kosovo media outlet INA.

BOTA SOT: The escalation between Kosovo and Serbia has been postponed, but what will happen in 2023 according to the Serbian Security Director

The Director of the Belgrade Centre for International and Security Affairs (ISAC Fund), Igor Novakovic, is not as optimistic as the European mediator for Dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, that an agreement between Serbia and Kosovo can be reached next year, writes Kosovo daily Bota Sot.

TOP CHANNEL: Political turmoil 2022, what was the most culminating event of the year we are leaving behind

“At the end of the year, Albania faced an unseen cyber-attack, where all government systems were hacked and inaccessible. On September 7, Edi Rama cut off relations with Iran, accusing it of being responsible for these attacks and the expulsion of diplomats from Tirana. DP is again shocked when information appears on the scene that it is financed from Russian money”, an excerpt from Top Story’s retrospective in the Albanian media outlet Top Channel.

Lajm: Goodbye until the next crisis caused by the experienced builder of barricades

“Seems that the show has ended. The ‘supreme officer’ for erecting the barricades has given an order for them to be removed as of this morning. But the ‘supreme officer’ of the barricades at a meeting with criminals, smugglers and offenders in Rashka warned of the next crisis: ‘I know that our people will never be satisfied until it is clear that they live in Serbia, and not in another country’”, reads an excerpt of the column “Goodbye until the next crisis caused by the experienced builder of barricades”, by Enver Robeli, published in the Macedonian media outlet Lajm.

INDEKS: Kasami himself admits: Of course, we are against European integration

“The leader of the Besa Movement, a few days ago conditioned the voting on the constitutional changes with holding early parliamentary elections, with which he equated himself with Levica and VMRO-DPMNE,” writes the Macedonian news portal in Albanian language, Index.

Kasami’s political anger exceeds all limits and in order to fulfill the ambition to come to power, he is prepared to sacrifice the country’s European future by not supporting the needed integration processes”, an excerpt of the editorial “Kasami himself admits: Of course, we are against European integration” by the Macedonian media outlet Indeks.
