EPOKA E RE – Kurti: In a few days we will apply for EU membership
Kosovo Prime Minister Kurti, in an interview for the renowned German newspaper „Frankfurter Alllgemeine Zeitung“, said that Kosovo will apply for membership in the European Union in December, and announced that Kosovo will be among the countries of Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia to apply for membership.
“We agreed not to implement our decision on penalties for drivers of vehicles with illegal Serbian license plates. Serbia agreed to stop issuing license plates inherited from the regime of Slobodan Milosevic”, said Kurti among other things.
“However, regardless of what Kurti says, currently the fact is that both the EU and the United States insist that unification of the Serbian municipalities in Kosovo is necessary. “Does he as head of government of a small country want to ignore his most important allies? Dangerous game”, wrote Michael Martens, the journalist who led the interview.

EKONOMIJA ONLINE: Is the common language enough?
“For the definition ‘language is the first sign of the diversity of nations’ to be unifying, it has to be accepted in principle by the individuals of the community who recognize themselves in it. Accordingly, it is the will for accepting the same common values that becomes a state-making and national identity of a certain demographic unit. The common language is not necessarily a characteristic element of every nation. It depends on what is meant by nation. There are peoples who consider to be as such not by common sociolinguistic characteristics, but by common political acts, that is, by having a common state”, by Artan Fuga in the column „Is the common language enough“ for Ekonomija Online.
