Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi posted three videos on his Facebook profile showing broken glass and broken Parliament windows and wrote that he supported people’s right to protest but strongly condemned violence and incitement to hatred, transmits news agency MIA.
“The consequences of last night’s rampage in front of the Parliament,” he wrote, commenting on the videos. “I recognize and support everyone’s right to protest, to express their opinion. I always strongly condemn hooliganism, violence, incitement to hatred, because they are not the solution,” Xhaferi added.
According to media reports, the windows of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were also broken during the protest on Tuesday evening. Parliament sources say the extent of the damage done is yet to be determined.
