A delegation led by the Governor of the National Bank, Anita Angelovska Bezhoska and Finance Minister Fatmir Besimi is taking part in the 2022 Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group (WBG) in Washington, writes MIA.
The delegation is set to hold meetings with senior officials of the IMF, the WB, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), as well as with representatives of other international financial organizations and institutions. Members of the delegation are set to hold separate meetings with the Director of the Europe Department at the International Monetary Fund Alfred Kammer, IMF Executive Director Paul Hilbers, IMF Alternate Executive Director Luc Dresse as well as Head of the IMF Mission to the Republic of North Macedonia, Bergljot Bjornson Barkbu.
The discussions will focus on monetary policy and the economic situation in the country. The Governor Angelovska Bezhoska is also set to meet with Director of the IMF’s Statistics Department Louis Marc Ducharme, General Counsel and Director of the IMF’s Legal Department Rhoda Weeks-Brown and deputy director in the Monetary and Capital Markets Department of the IMF Christopher Erceg and discuss the results of the ongoing cooperation between the National Bank and the IMF.
Moreover, the delegation is scheduled to meet with the World Bank Vice President for Europe and Central Asia, Anna Bjerde, the WB’s Executive Director for the Constituency, where our country is a member, Koen Davidse as well as with the IFC’s Vice President Georgina Baker.
The Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group (WBG) bring together central bankers, ministers of finance and development, private sector executives, representatives from civil society organizations and academics to discuss issues of global concern, including the world economic outlook, poverty eradication, economic development, and aid effectiveness.
