“There are no real threats. Our competent institutions take measures for monitoring and reporting in regards to eventual risks, but according to all previous information from the relevant services, for now there is no real danger to the stability and safety” says the Minister of Defense, Slavjanka Petrovska in a statement for Deutsche Welle, in response to the question of there being a risk of what is happening in Ukraine to spill over in the region of the Western Balkans.
“But, this type of conflict shows how important it is for the countries from the Western Balkans to be included in the integrative processes, especially in the European integration, with which the opportunities for an influence from third countries will be eliminated. “ says Petrovska.
In her conversation for Deutsche Welle, the Minister of Defense adds that the capacities of the domestic and partner armies will soon be presented on the biggest military exercise that has been held in this country, with 4.000 participants, 350 of whom are Macedonian soldiers. The exercise will be held from 12 to 14 May on the Krivolak Polygon, but the preparations starting already this month.
