Head of Macedonian diplomacy Bujar Osmani stated that he is prepared to propose changes to the work of the Joint commission on historical issues.
– I am prepared to propose entering into a conversation on a possible change in the manner of work, and why not also in the structure and composition of the Joint History Commission, said Osmani in an interview for BNT on the day when the new government of Dimitar Kovacevski took office and ahead of the visit of Bulgarian Prime Minister Kiril Petkov to the Republic of North Macedonia.
He emphasized that a possible change in the structure and approach of the work of the commission will not be linked to specific deadlines for results.
Osmani said that in an environment that is deteriorating in the Balkans, the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of North Macedonia should not leave unsolved problems in the region.
He reminded that precisely Bulgaria raised the issue of European integration of the Western Balkans in 2018.
Commenting the request for including people with Bulgarian identity as state-building people in the Constitutions of the Republic of North Macedonia, Osmani said that he considers that the country is known for the great collective rights it gives to different nationalities.
