Great Britain strongly supports the start of North Macedonia’s EU accession negotiations, said British Ambassador Rachel Galloway on Thursday, expressing hope that European countries would make a positive decision on the issue based on everything that Skopje has done in this regard.
“It has been clear for years that North Macedonia meets the criteria for the start of the EU talks. We support North Macedonia for the opening of the negotiations and hope that the European countries will make this decision based on criteria not other political factors,” Ambassador Galloway told reporters in Makedonska Kamenica.
She added that Great Britain would continue to be one of the biggest investors in the country after its EU exit.
“The two countries signed a trade exchange agreement by the end of last year, and bilateral economic ties will only strengthen. We are among the top investors in North Macedonia, so these bilateral ties can only enhance in the following period,” noted Galloway.
