EU Ambassadors agreed Wednesday that non-essential travel restrictions to the Union should be removed for North Macedonia, Albania and Serbia. The decision will be made official in the coming days, MIA reports from Brussels.
The Portuguese EU Presidency has confirmed the report after a meeting of the Committee of Permanent Representatives (COREPER).
The decision is to be formally published in the EU Official Journal and thus enter into force, most probably on Friday. The issue is of technical nature and is not expected to raise any political problems.
Nationals from these three countries should be either fully inoculated with a vaccine approved by the European Union or the World Health Organization or present a negative PCR test.
