The operating rooms in the Skopje-based University Clinic of Thoracic and Vascular Surgery have been fully renovated and equipped with modern equipment.
The inaugural event of the renovated thoracic surgery department was attended on Thursday by PM Zoran Zaev, First Deputy PM and Minister of Political System Artan Grubi, Health Minister Venko Filipche, Deputy Health Minister Ilir Hasani, FM Bujar Osmani, directors of the Health Insurance Fund and health institutions.
PM Zaev said that Mden 60 million have been invested in the renovation of this department, with fully renovated operating rooms, including state-of-the-art equipment for complete care and treatment of patients, because quality health care is our top priority.
“With this action, which is part of the capital investments in public health institutions, the government reaffirms its strong commitment to building a sustainable and efficient health system. Over the past four years, the Ministry of Health has worked intensively to improve the conditions in public health institutions in order to provide better health care for patients and better working conditions for healthcare professionals. With joint efforts we realized capital investments in renovation and infrastructure in 32 healthcare institutions across the country,” Zaev said.
Health Minister Filipche expressed his satisfaction that such events are marked within their entire program by mutual agreement with the directors of public health institutions whose budgets should strengthen the infrastructure in the Clinical Center, where healthcare professionals have been working for years.
As part of that overall plan, Filipche said, the new operating rooms in the Skopje-based University Clinic of Thoracic and Vascular Surgery are being promoted today, where the most complex surgeries have been performed for years, and has not been renovated for more than 60 years.
The renovated operating rooms will improve the quality of patient care, especially in surgery, for which we are especially proud together with colleagues and staff of the Clinic, Clinic of Thoracic and Vascular Surgery director Nexhati Jakupi said, thanking the government for the support in the budget and wished the cooperation to continue, as well as investments in public health, especially in tertiary health care.
