Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani has received the copies of the credentials of the Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to North Macedonia, Demetrios Theophylactou.
Osmani wished the newly appointed ambassador success during his diplomatic term, saying he expected it will contribute to accelerating the development of the countries’ relations, the Foreign Ministry said Wednesday.
The diplomats shared views on several topical issues with an accent on North Macedonia’s European integration and perspectives.
“Osmani thanked for Cyprus’ strong support to our European integration process and said he was confident that Cyprus would continue to champion our bid to integrate into the bloc,” said the press release.
It was noted that there is strong will to establish cordial relations for cooperation in all areas of mutual interest with an emphasis on economic cooperation and tourism and organizing business forums.
The interlocutors also shared views on current developments in the two countries, and in the region and worldwide, especially the response to tackling the pandemic and its consequences, mainly at economic level, said the press release.
