About 6,000 businesses in the tourism-hospitality sector will stage a protest in front of the Ministry of Finance on Tuesday as the Government is set to hold a press conference on the sixth set of anti-crisis measures.
The tourism-hospitality sector seeks one-time financial support for all registered hospitality facilities, one-time financial support for hospitality facilities which primary operations have been banned for more than a year, and a moratorium or reprogramming of bank loans until they reopen.
Deputy PM for Economic Affairs Fatmir Bytyqi said yesterday hospitality facilities would be provided assistance for the losses they suffered while being shut down, including subsidies amounting to 30% of their revenue and 50% of the gross minimum wage per employee.
The Deputy PM noted that travel agencies will also be included in the new set of measures and asked them to enter discussions over medium and long-term measures.
“I’m inviting travel agencies to discuss with us this or next week medium and long-term measures. We have to face reality and plan on how we can overcome the crisis more easily,” he added.
