Justice Minister Bojan Marichikj held separate meetings on Friday in Brussels with Slovenian MEPs Tanja Fajon and Irena Joveva and discussed reforms implemented in North Macedonia, focusing on those in judiciary and fight against corruption.
Marichikj, the Justice Ministry said in a press release, briefed MEPs on preparations for conducting the census and the fact that the first stage of this statistical operation has successfully ended. He underlined that it’s unsustainable for the country to go without a headcount for 20 years.
“The Minister presented in detail the reforms implemented in the judiciary, focusing on digitalization and filtration, enforced by the Judicial Council,” the press release read.
Minister Marichikj during his working visit to Brussels this week, met with EU Commissioners Johannes Hahn and Věra Jourová, who expressed support for implementation of judicial reforms and European integration.
