The government at Monday’s session approved a recommendation of the Commission for Infectious Diseases to extend the nationwide nighttime 10 pm – 5 am curfew from March 23 until April 6.
The government’s decision to enforce a 10 pm – 5 am curfew was implemented on March 10, due to the new COVID-19 wave and expires Monday (March 22).
The curfew decision was enforced to reduce movement and communication between young people, who were gathering in parks, public spaces and homes, because they are the main culprits for the transmission of the virus.
