By 8:00 am on Friday, a total of 49,837 citizens living abroad have filled out online surveys via the census app, the State Statistical Office posted on its website.
To sign up on the app, users have to register using their personal identification number, an e-main address and phone number. Following registration, the app automatically records the IP address used to filled out the survey.
Data collected via the census app will be compared to other databases.
The SSO previously said that the census app is accessible only with a IP address from abroad, stressing that all violations of the headcount process are punishable under the Law on Census.
The app, it noted, works in line with the census methodology and the guidelines for self-enumeration of people living abroad, both adopted by the SSO.
