Reintroducing Serbian language classes in schools in the Republic of North Macedonia proves that ties with Serbia and Russia haven’t been broken, Bulgarian Foreign Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva has said.
“Macedonianism in itself is a geo-political idea created by Belgrade and Moscow. Unfortunately, I’m not surprised by the decision of the Macedonian authorities. Reintroducing Serbian language to be taught in schools means that all parties in the Republic of North Macedonia, regardless of their political differences, have a consensus over the matter… as well as on the issue of the relations with Bulgaria,” Zaharieva told BTV.
Her comments, BGNES reports, come on the heels of PM Zoran Zaev’s announcement that Serbian language classes will be reintroduced in elementary schools nationwide
