NEWS OF THE DAY: SCPC: Most presidents of basic courts have not submitted assets declarations

The Anti-Corruption Commission at today’s session reviewed 18 cases on presidents of basic courts and after the check made on monitoring the assets situation and conflict of interest, according to the annual work programme, it determined that most of them have not complied to the obligation for submitting assets declarations, and the procedure has been continued for two judges due to collecting additional information.

  • A good part of the presidents of courts have not fulfilled their obligation for submitting assets declarations within the legal deadline. The list of presidents who have not fulfilled their obligation, and for whom we will issue orders, to be submitted to the Judicial Council with information separately for the respective judges. The Judicial Council should have this information and use it in monitoring the work of the judges, said Sofka Pejovska Dojcinovska, Vice President of the Anti-Corruption Commission, at the session held through a video conferencing.

STATEMENT OF THE DAY: Shikovska: We deserve an equal society for all

Buckovski: Zaev is fighting for our European future in the spirit of European values

Interview for CIVIL MEDIA with university professor Vlado Buckovski. He is a former prime minister and two times minister of defence, and at one time also President of SDSM. Macedonia received a candidate status for EU membership in 2005, during his mandate as prime minister. This is his key success in the political career.

FLASH NEWS

Minister of Health Venko Filipce at today’s press conference stated that in the countries in the region it can be noticed that the number of new COVID-19 cases remains at a high level and that it is slightly decreasing, while the number of deaths remains high on a daily basis.

Filipce assessed that a curfew after 9.00 pm will not change anything, since after that it is quite empty anyway. Restaurants and cafes do not work and there is a ban for grouping in public areas.

I do not think that Mile Janakieski, Spiro Ristovski, Trajko Veljanovski and others are the main creators and organizers of the events that took place on April 27, 2017 in the Parliament. According to my knowledge, these people were manipulated by the main organizer, Nikola Gruevski. Prime Minister Zoran Zaev stated this today, replying as a witness to a question from the Court in regards to the constitutive session in the Parliament on April 27, 2017.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Bujar Osmani today represented the Republic of North Macedonia at the 42nd meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation, which is our first participation at this forum, after the country just a few days ago became a full member of this organization.

Minister of Interior Oliver Spasovski said that declaring a state of crisis does not mean that the citizens will be seeing an increased number of policemen or soldiers on the streets to carry out the measures, but an opportunity for all resources in the country to be used maximally in coordination of all competent bodies and institutions.

From the conversation with the inspectors, I was informed that the number of issued orders for isolation of persons infected with Covid-10 and those who have been in contact with infected persons has dramatically increased. This is an indicator that we are perhaps entering the most critical period of the pandemic, said today Deputy Prime Minister in charge of fighting corruption Ljupco Nikolovski, after the meeting with inspectors of the State Sanitary and Health Inspectorate.
