When will the eagles land on the crosses?
by: Saso Ordanoski
That the Law on Use of Languages is necessary and poorly drafted is something that everyone knew even since the day it was adopted. Some articles cannot be implemented, and some are unclear or confusing. We went through those detailed debates back then…
And now why the drama again, with rash statements and nervous reactions?
Well, because elections are coming. And in Macedonia, traditionally, there is no other better election topic than the one on giving, taking, realizing, limiting, conquering, usurping, guaranteeing, defending or endangering the Macedonian-Albanian national rights. There is an entire media gallery of “macedonianists” specialized for well fitted election-referendum ethno-whining. With the Albanians, on the other hand, every time national rights are mentioned in a pre-election period, Artan Grubi to some degree immediately becomes a prouder leader of the “Smugglers”, while Bujar Osmani expressly enters an intellectual nationalist “overdrive” … Elections, man, what can you do.
