Following the testimony of homeless Albert Osmanov who stated that he had transferred from “Ranka Milanovik” to “Cicino Selo”, because of having problems with the other families living there and because the living conditions were bad, in a conversation with CIVIL Media, Ljatife Shikovska from the NGO “Ambrela” says that his statement is not true.
“The problem is that Albert Osmanov did not leave “Ranka Milanovik” with his family, but on the contrary, he had been cautioned several times previously by the Inter-Municipal Centre for Social Work. In his three-month stay there with his family, he constantly disturbed the other families, because he argued and had conflicts with his wife every day at “Ranka Milanovik”, says Shikovska.
She adds that they had tried to overcome his family problems, but that, unfortunately, they had failed.
“They argued every day and so the remaining families asked us to take some measures. We informed the Inter-Municipal Centre that we had a problem, and after that he was called to have a conversation
with them, where he was told that he would no longer be staying at “Ranka Milanovik” and that he would be transferred to “Cicino Selo”, where he has been staying for two weeks now”, she says.
Shikovska stressed that if the conditions hadn’t been good for Albert and his family, like he said in the interview, then he could have left that place and requested another shelter.
“However, when you are housed in an institution, it is not all right and in order to spit on the previous institution where you where accommodated. I most strongly claim that Albert was a problem in “Ranka Milanovik”, where many other families complained, and we as a non-governmental organization were witnesses, because we work and are at service of those families who are housed there”, she adds.
Shikovska claims that it is not true that someone wanted to harass and abuse his wife and children.
“His children, like the others, were taken care of and visited the Daily Centre for Street Children that is in Gazi Bab every day”, she says.
