DECLARATION The leaders of the European Union member states, the leadership of the European Council, the European Parliament and the European Commission, as well as heads of states and government of the Western Balkans countries, have adopted a joint declaration from the EU-Western Balkans Summit, in which the EU is once again affirming its unequivocal support for the European perspective as a firm strategic choice.

The Zagreb declaration, informs the government press service, also mentions the coronavirus crisis and that the EU advocates for its partners from the Western Balkans and remains committed to actively supporting their efforts in the fight against the coronavirus and in dealing with the consequences in societies and economies.

EU SUMMIT North Macedonia in the past three years has decided to seriously turn new pages in its history. We came out of a deep political crisis and we restored democratic institutions and the rule of law. We have delivered specific and sustainable results in implementing the EU-related reforms in in the good-neighbourly relations. We became the 30th NATO member and under your leadership we received a decision for start of the EU accession negotiations, said Prime Minister Oliver Spasovski in his address in the video conference at the Plenary Session of the of the EU-Western Balkans Summit Zagreb 2020.

SUPPORT European Socialists and Democrats support the European perspective of the Western Balkans ahead of the EU- Western Balkans Summit, reported MIA correspondent.

-We continuously support the European future of the Western Balkans. Our family (the European Party of Socialists and Democrats) helped set the foundations for accession negotiations for North Macedonia, and we also support our other sister parties in the Western Balkans, outlined Sergei Stanishev, President of the Party.

Following the leaders meeting, which was chaired by Donald Tusk, the European People’s Party reaffirmed its support for enlargement and credible membership for the Western Balkans.

-The EPP sent a strong signal for support to the Western Balkans countrues. It is thanks to the efforts and determination of the Prime Minister of Croatia, Andrej Plenkovic, that the EU remains true to its word and is dedicated to the future of the region, is said in the tweet.

DECREES I hear that recently more questions are being raised about the decrees with the force of law, what they can regulate and until when they are valid and similar. When these issues are considered, one must take into consideration that the state of emergency was declared to more easily tackle the epidemic, as well as the consequences arising from it, and those consequences include economic, social, educational ones and similar, says Minister of Justice Renata Deskoska for MIA.

ELECTIONS MP Artan Grubi of the Democratic Union for Integration (DUI) in an interviews for TV T7, expressed confidence that the institutions from Kosovo and Albania will not interfere in the future parliamentary elections in the Republic of North Macedonia, who expects to be held in the following next months.
