EDUCATION Students from the final years of the 2019/2020 school year calendar with diplomas for completed secondary education will be able to enrol in higher education institutions, in addition to the already set conditions, announced Minister of Education Arber Ademi.

HEALTH Nine new doctors and twelve nurses as of today start working at the Kumanovo General Hospital, inform the competent officials from the public health care institution. Most of them will be on duty at the Emergency Center, one doctor will be engaged at the Infectious Diseases Department and one at the Department for Physical Therapy.

GREENS The Government at today’s session adopted the initiatives for protection of Shar Mountain and Osogovo Mountains. As the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning announced, according to the legal procedure for declaring protected areas, public debates will be carried out in the coming period on the proposals of the local population, as well as all stakeholders. After the opinions and remarks have been harmonized, final proposals will be developed for declaring these two locations.

ELECTIONS VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski is convinced that regardless of when the elections will be held, his party will win, but that they don’t want to go to elections now since the circumstances have changed and they need more time for a new program. SDSM leader Zoran Zaev, on the other hand, thinks that the moment should be used because the country is without a Parliament and political government for too long now. Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Dimitrov shares a similar view, who considers that if epidemiologists and experts assess that it is possible to hold elections, then there should be elections.

DIPLOMACY In regards to the demands from the Bulgarian side for dropping the Macedonian language and Macedonian minority from the Negotiating framework, Head of diplomacy Nikola Dimitrov says that it is impossible to build friendship if you challenge the neighbour’s identity. The Minister also said that the language is not an issue that is subject to recognition or non-recognition by states and that in the 21st century, especially in Europe, the right to self-determination and self-expression cannot be denied.
