Some 15,000 people lost their jobs in North Macedonia during the coronacrisis, Economy Minister Kreshnik Bekteshi said on Monday, citing Employment Agency data.
He stressed that the Macedonian diaspora does not impact unemployment figures.
“There’s no indication that Macedonian citizens living abroad contribute to rise in unemployment. Since the onset of the pandemic in North Macedonia, some 15,000 people lost their jobs,” the Minister told reporters after signing a cooperation memorandum with the Economic Chamber of North-West Macedonia.
